"Volunteer Instructors, in short VIs. Wonder why VIs exist? Ever wonder why your VI would make unconditional sacrifice for you? VIs are just volunteers right, so why are they so willing to give their time to us, the cadets?

Click on the Video below and it will tell you why.

Yes! It’s just one word, a word so powerful that choose this road, "Love"

VIs are no different from you. We were all once cadets. Like how our VIs have loved us, we have chosen this road to contribute and pass down the knowledge and passion within us to every single one of you today. Giving them a place to belong and a life they will never regret. You can be the one to change their life today!

If you have the same passion and feeling for your unit and juniors, you are the right person that we are looking for! The passion, the commitment, leading the ones you love... It is a feeling that you will never forget, the decision that you will never regret. I can say this because I have never once regretted the road I have decided to take, Leading the Ones I Love and To Lead With Pride."

Although I might have doubted my abilities at times, wondering how much or how long can i continue to contribute back to my unit, how much i dislike the politics, how much i have sacrificed my time and effort for RC, I would say i have never ever regretted becoming a VI. Cause the outcome of grooming the ones you love to become a better person or a matured leader overpowers every single thing. You'll never know how much a little word or action from you could change and made an impact to their lives.

That simple and sincere thank you and salute from cadets after passing their mass accred just because you spent a day teaching them and the little thank you notes/gifts you receive after programmes like UIP, ULP or even VIP from your mentess or the thought that they still remember what you've told them or taught them during those programmes and by knowing the recognition that they gave you through their appraisals would really warms and melt your heart and brighten up your day. With all these, all those sacrifices do not matter anymore. Of course it's not the gifts that matter but the values that you've instilled in them to pass on to their juniors or the lessons taught to give them more knowledge on how to become a better and respectable leader and lead their unit to greater heights are much more important.

Believe me, if you could do all the above or even manage to change/influence a cadet with the least bit of passion or enthusiasm into someone who loves the CCA so much more and put it as one of his/her priorities, that sense of accomplishment and satisfaction could really surpass many things such as the sense of achievement you've after running your 10 km marathon and what not.
It's all those things that i've mentioned above made me pressed on and continue to serve one another and lead with pride.

Although a VI may seem to be a noble person in the cadets' eyes but cadets, you will never know how much power you actually have to make a VI persevere and stay on just for you. <3
