Typed long ago but posted only now.

Well, 2010 have been an average year I would say. Of course there’s always room for improvement. Things can be better. Nothing is perfect. I do hope that 2011 will be much much better.
I’ve 11 New Year resolutions for 2010 but I only merely fulfilled a few of them so this time round I should just stick it to 5?
1. Do my very best to ensure that my friends and family is happy.
2. Put more effort into my studies and try to make huge improvements.
3. Slim down and keep fit. Exercise more! Don’t slack!
4. Save more $$$ to get the things that I want or at least make me feel rich. LOL.
5. Treat everybody as sincere as possible. Respect them, give more compliments and criticize less.
That’s about it and I do hope that I can fulfill all of them by the end of 2011.

Up till now, I would say that the year that I like best since 2005 till now would be 2007 whereby there were many major events that took place. Many new first times, new experiences and it will be all thank to AMKSS RCY and the UG as a whole. To name a few, there was the taking over of the unit, taking up the post of Finance in UG Council, taking up the post of RSM during CUGC (it was really a tough one for me since I seldom scold people and was forced to imagine the sirs and ma’ams as cadets and try to scold them during the interview), NDP 2007 (1st year at the Floating platform), India Trip right after FYE 9also the first batch to do it), RCYC (achieving the lanyard) and many more bits and pieces. All these WONDERFUL, AWESOME memories shared with my batchmates/companions/buddies will always be etched in my mind.
2nd best would most probably be 2006 whereby I have this great bunch of classmates which form the best class ever [22o6]. It’s always amazing to see different people with different backgrounds and personalities coming together to achieve a common goal. With the guidance of our teachers, to name one is Mr Sim who guided us through and taught us the true meaning of a class (a team). Back then at the beginning, we had a few people who failed maths throughout the semester but Mr Sim did not ever give up on them. Instead, he told us to help one another and never leave anyone behind. With everyone’s effort, we managed to get the 2nd best class for maths at the end of year. We were like the 2nd lousiest class to start with.
And I also really love the time whereby most of the UG people in the class would do Sizing up drill during recess or even just sitting down and chat till it’s time for training on Fridays. That’s really nice right? Fyi, almost half of the class were UG people. Cool right? We are just like a family. Do many things together including polishing boots. Confession: Sometimes we’ll ask those land or air people to help us to polish our boots since theirs are always very shiny. Hahaha. 2006 was also the year when Yilin and I joined SYF marching contingent. We had lots of great memories and encounters back then. That was when we learnt how to rely on ourselves and be independent.
Also, CUGC 2006 was a great stepping stone or exposure for me. We really learnt a lot from the sirs and ma’ams especially with Sir Lester around. It was damn tough but I’ve truly learnt a lot.
NDP 2006 was fun too. Having long trainings on Saturdays when the sun was so bright and the weather was very hot. We endured through rounds and rounds of training with little and short water breaks in between but the spirit of giving in our best to put up our best performance on the actual day was there. I remembered that the GOH was threatened by the sirs to not wear their No. 1 uniform if their standard wasn’t up to expectation. Trainings back then could be the worst, very tough but this is when we enjoyed the most and get the best out of it.
I miss my secondary school days very very very much! But obviously things have changed since then and I won’t be able to get back those feelings again especially when I see lesser and lesser of those familiar faces now. I’ve got to move on!
